About an hour ago, I learned that Tim Russert of NBC’s Meet The Press had succumbed to massive heart attack. I was horrified and stunned…
I did not know Mr. Russert, but he has always struck me as a fair and very intelligent man who made it a point to give everyone their fair say and hold them accountable for their words. He authored a wonderful book: ‘Big Russ and Me,’ about his relationship with his father. It was poignant and touching. What a sad twist that his father has now outlived him. I understand his wife and son are flying back from Italy now after receiving the news. Our prayers and condolences go to his family. He will be missed and was a great reporter and by all accounts, a good man…
My husband is 58 and it really hits home when something like this happens. We grieve for Tim Russert even though we did not know him - G-d bless his family and may he find peace…
Update: Hat Tip The Anchoress - Matthew Yglesias might want to chide his commenters. Some of the most disrespectful, disgusting comments I have ever seen and Russert was a Democrat. Shame on you people - are you so petty and jealous of someone who was fair and great at his job that you have nothing better to do than cut at him on the day he passes away? Small comfort that no one will even notice when these inconsiderate jerks pass… I hope his family doesn’t see this.
